Manta Pacific, the first native layer 2 (L2) modular blockchain of Manta Network, has announced the implementation of an industry-first Multiple Data Availability (MultiDA) framework.

This approach incorporates data availability solutions from seven leading providers: Celestia, EigenDA, NEAR’s Nuffle Labs, Avail, 0G, Nubit, and Dill.

The MultiDA strategy is designed to ensure uninterrupted service by dynamically selecting the optimal data availability solution based on factors such as availability, performance, and cost. This approach aims to maintain a consistent user experience while optimizing transaction costs, setting a new standard for L2 blockchain performance.

Kenny Li, Co-Founder and Core Contributor of Manta Network, emphasized the significance of this development:

“Our goal at Manta Network has always been to push the envelope and introduce new standards for the industry. As the first L2 to leverage Celestia DA, we will continue to lead with our MultiDA strategy. By prioritizing the security, resilience, and uptime of the network, we are paving the way for a more robust and reliable blockchain ecosystem.”

Manta Pacific’s commitment to innovation is evident in its track record. In December 2023, it became the first L2 to integrate Celestia’s data availability layer, a move that has since saved its users over $5 million. The implementation of the MultiDA framework further strengthens Manta’s position as a leader in providing superior L2 user experiences.

The modular approach adopted by Manta Pacific allows for continuous improvement without causing downtime or significant changes for developers and users. This flexibility is crucial as the demand for onchain resources by Web3 users continues to grow. The MultiDA framework takes this concept a step further by ensuring that users won’t experience service interruptions even if a single data availability provider faces downtime.

Altan Tutar, CEO of Nuffle Labs, expressed excitement about the collaboration:

“We’re excited to see Manta Pacific leverage NEAR DA as part of their MultiDA strategy. This framework aligns with our vision of building the next-generation of modular infrastructure for all. Using multiple DA layers will boost rollup scalability and hence will enable more powerful decentralized applications to thrive.”

Kyle Rojas, Global Business Lead at Avail, also commented on the potential impact of this development:

“As modular Web3 development and adoption increases, the demand on blockchain networks will grow proportionally. It is crucial that there are scalable systems in place to deal with future surges. By utilizing multiple DA solutions and incorporating Avail’s DA layer, Manta will enhance the robustness and scalability of its network.”

Since its launch, Manta Pacific has achieved impressive milestones, including over 27 million transactions, a community of 1.1 million active users, and the deployment of 279 projects.

The Manta Foundation has also launched a $50 million EcoFund to support early-stage, high-potential projects globally, aiming to transform the onchain landscape.

Manta now offers users expanded yield opportunities with access to Mountain Protocol’s wUSDM, backed by BlackRock’s BUIDL Fund, leading the charge in real-world asset integration.
